About Taking Little Steps

“Taking little steps may be the beginning of a great journey.”

Welcome to my blog! First things first, there will be no hard feelings if at any time you decide you are done with my blog and no longer want to read it. I have a lot of thoughts in life, so what better way to express them then making it easily accessible for the entire world to read? #thanksinternet (Although let’s be real…I’m pretty sure the only people who read my blog are my grandma and my husband haha)

I hope you enjoy reading and, if not, try putting some better search words in google.

FAQ: Who am I?

I am a thirty-something-year-old lucky enough to have a day job that allows me to finance my travels. I’m married, own a house and have two children so on paper it sounds like I’m an actual grown-up. This is false. My mom says I’m not really a grown-up until I stop playing drinking games at parties so based on this logic I’m not quite there yet. Oh, and I live outside of Washington D.C. with my husband, daughter, son, and our two adorable cats, RJ and Bo.

FAQ: What do you write about in this blog?

I don’t write about my travels as much as I should or want to (seriously blogging is hard aka takes a lot of time). There are two main things I write about in this blog. First, my travels to Italy. My father is Italian-American and I have an obsession with Italy so I’ve traveled a bunch around the country. Second, I have this ridiculous goal of running a half-marathon in each state. Except, I really really hate running and I’m super slow. Yes, I know – not the best item to put on my bucket list. Each half-marathon that is completed gets a blog post!

FAQ: Why “Taking Little Steps”?

Life can get overwhelming on a day-to-day basis. Between work, trying to eat healthy, having a social life, exercising, and sleeping, sometimes I feel like I have to remind myself to breathe. Too often in our society we are cultured to always look ahead – What needs to be done next? Where will I be in five years? – but do we not live enough in the moment. If we all remember that life is a bunch of little steps, not one big giant leap, I think we would enjoy more and stress less. Please join me in the No Stress Movement (officially trademarked by Husband Andy).
